Terms and Conditions

This is an agreement between you and RootCause Health. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you do not agree to these terms, do not order a kit or use the portal.

You must be at least 18 years old and ordering for yourself. Our tests are available only in the regions listed at checkout. If you have a bleeding disorder, take anticoagulant medication, or have any condition that makes a finger-prick unsafe, consult your physician before using a kit.

Our tests and reports are provided for wellness and educational purposes. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and they are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always talk with your healthcare provider about your results before changing medication or starting treatment, and never delay seeking care because of something you read in a report. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

Prices are shown at checkout and may change, though the price you are charged is the price displayed when you order. Taxes and any duties are added where applicable. We may cancel or refuse an order if we suspect fraud, a pricing error, or a shipping restriction, and will refund you in full if we do. Many customers can pay with HSA or FSA funds; eligibility depends on your plan administrator.

If you choose a re-test plan, you authorise us to charge your payment method on the stated recurring schedule until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account or by contacting us; cancellation takes effect for the next scheduled shipment, and kits already shipped are not refundable except as set out below.

Kits ship in discreet packaging and include a prepaid return envelope. Because kits contain a sterile collection device, unopened kits may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund; opened or used kits cannot be returned for health and safety reasons. If your kit arrives damaged, or if the laboratory cannot process your sample through no fault of your own, we will send a replacement kit at no charge.

Follow the instructions in your kit, including any fasting requirement, and register your kit before mailing it. Results depend on a correctly collected sample: an insufficient, contaminated, or unregistered sample may be rejected by the laboratory. Mail your sample promptly after collection. Do not use a kit past its expiry date, and do not reuse the lancet.

Your results are delivered to your secure portal, typically about a week after your sample reaches the laboratory; timing can vary. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for the accuracy of the details you provide, including date of birth and sex assigned at birth, which determine the reference ranges applied to your report. You may not resell, reproduce commercially, or present our reports as clinical diagnostic records.

If you provide your mobile number and tick the consent box at checkout or on our signup form, you agree to receive automated text messages from RootCause Health about your order, including order confirmations, shipping and delivery updates, notification that a report is ready to view in your portal, and replies to support questions you send us. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you can order and receive results without it.

We do not send promotional or marketing text messages. Message frequency varies with your order activity and is expected to be no more than four messages per month. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages after that. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us through our contact page. Text messages are available only to numbers served by participating carriers in the United States.

Your results are never sent by text message. Any message about results will tell you only that a report is available in your secure portal.

The RootCause Health name, logo, site design, report formats, and written content are our property or licensed to us. Your results data is yours; the format and presentation of the report remain ours. You may use our content for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

We work with accredited clinical laboratories and take accuracy seriously, but our services are provided without warranties beyond those required by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which RootCause Health is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above and, for account holders, notified by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
